Registered Nurse – Med/Surg & Orthopaedics (Night Shift)

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 5th Floor Complex Medical Care unit, providing peri‑operative and post‑operative care to medical‑surgical and orthopaedic patients during night hours.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care and monitor patient conditions, including telemetry cardiac monitoring.
• Implement, evaluate, and update patient care plans; administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Document patient status, communicate changes to the care team, and coordinate discharge planning.
• Educate patients and families about care plans and health information.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN or BSN).
• Current state RN licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for critical‑care areas.
• At least one year of acute‑care RN experience or equivalent military RN experience.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (if applicable).
• Proficiency with telemetry monitoring and electronic health record documentation.
