Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical Unit

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Medical/Surgical unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital‑Cedar Crest. The RN will provide professional nursing care, assess patient needs, and coordinate treatment plans in alignment with hospital policies and evidence‑based practice.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for designated patients, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
• Provide patient and family education throughout the treatment course to ensure smooth transitions of care.
• Participate in performance improvement processes and evidence‑based research projects.
• Teach, mentor, and precept new colleagues and interns, delegating tasks based on skill and patient acuity.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current RN license in Pennsylvania.
• Successful completion of orientation programs and maintenance of unit‑specific competencies.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and deliver safe patient care in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification (required upon hire).
• Basic computer proficiency for electronic health record documentation.
