Registered Nurse Med Surg - Night Shift

About the role

AdventHealth in Denver is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its Med Surg unit working nights. The role covers assessment, care planning, medication administration, patient education and collaboration with the medical team, with a sign-on bonus and relocation allowance for eligible candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients' physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual and lifestyle factors
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, reviewing them regularly
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, monitoring for adverse reactions
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, medications and self-care
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate patient care
• Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, interventions and outcomes
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety and regulatory requirements
• Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication, supervise delegation to the care team, and respond promptly to code situations

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• 1+ year of acute care hospital experience preferred
• Fluent English (reading, speaking and writing)
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows programs
• BLS/CPR certification required
