Registered Nurse – Lactation

About the role

Ochsner is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to lead lactation care for patients. This role uses the nursing process within the Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards to deliver high‑quality, culturally sensitive care. The RN will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes and unit goals.

Key responsibilities

• Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate lactation care for patients and families.
• Educate patients, families, and staff on lactation practices, adapting teaching methods to diverse needs.
• Delegate, direct, and collaborate with licensed and ancillary team members to ensure coordinated care.
• Utilize data and evidence‑based practices to drive improvements in patient outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web‑based applications.
