Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery (Night Shift)

About the role

Ashe Memorial Hospital in West Jefferson, NC, is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) for its Labor & Delivery department on the night shift. The nurse provides skilled, compassionate care to patients throughout labor, delivery and immediate recovery, working in a supportive, close-knit team in a hospital recognized as a multi-year Best Place to Work. No travel is required.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to obstetrical patients during labor and delivery
• Monitor maternal and fetal well-being and respond to changes in condition
• Support patients and families through childbirth and recovery
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
• Administer medications and keep accurate documentation
• Respond to high-acuity and emergency situations
• Promote a safe, patient-centered care environment

Required profile

• Current RN license in North Carolina or a compact state
• CPR certification required; ACLS and NRP certification required within 6 months
• Minimum of one year of Labor & Delivery or relevant nursing experience preferred
• Compliance with hospital policies, including vaccination requirements (approved exemptions considered)
• Successful criminal background check and post-offer drug screening
