Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction, is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its Interventional Radiology imaging suite. The Imaging Nurse assists all radiology modalities (Interventional Radiology, CT, MRI, X-Ray, Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound), rotates daily and works closely with radiologists in planning patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide pre-, intra- and post-procedure care for patients undergoing complex neuro and peripheral interventions such as cerebral aneurysm coils, AVM and AVF repairs and stroke interventions.
• Assist in diagnostic procedures and highly complex invasive procedures.
• Start IVs, access and de-access ports, and administer conscious sedation while monitoring sedated patients per hospital policy.
• Handle and document specimens and collaborate with the admitting nurse on home health needs and inpatient admissions.
• Be on call and available per the department on-call policy, attend in-services and stay current on best practices and new technology.
• Communicate needed unit resources or equipment to be included in the budget and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure in the state of Florida.
• AHA BLS and ACLS certification.
• Strong IV placement skills and critical care experience (ICU, ED, PCU, interventional/cath lab, endoscopy, OR/PACU) preferred.
• Ability to lift and move patients and equipment, including pushing or pulling up to 40 lbs and carrying up to 50 lbs.
