Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Stepdown (Day Shift, Full‑Time)

About the role

Ochsner Health seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse to lead patient care in the Intensive Care‑Stepdown unit on the day shift. This full‑time position uses the nursing process within the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code, and Scope & Standards of Practice to achieve quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
• Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies for patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources, serving as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
• Uses data and knowledge to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes.
• Embraces concepts that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale.
• Adapts behavior to respect patient privacy, cultural diversity, and communication preferences.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• No prior work experience required.
• Preferred certification in a clinical specialty area.
