Registered Nurse II - Imaging

About the role

Ashe Memorial Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse II for its Imaging team in Jefferson, North Carolina. The nurse works Monday to Friday on the first shift, as needed, with no supervisory responsibilities and no travel. The pay is commensurate with experience. The RN II plans, coordinates and delivers patient care in a hospital setting, functions independently and consults with other team members when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Provide care with minimal guidance and prioritize direct, professional nursing care for patients
• Perform head-to-toe assessments and reassessments on all age groups
• Administer medications using the electronic health record and scanning process
• Document, monitor and report symptoms and changes in patient status
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments
• Provide patient education, emotional, psychological and spiritual support, and act as patient advocate
• Maintain infection control policies, confidentiality of records and a safe, clean environment
• Take part in orientation and training of new staff, special assignments and quality improvement projects

Required profile

• Previous imaging or outpatient nursing experience preferred
• Current RN license to practice in North Carolina
• BLS certification within one month of hire
• ACLS and PALS certification within the orientation period
• Willingness to receive all required vaccinations, including the flu shot, as a condition of employment
