Registered Nurse ICU Nights

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its ICU nights shift in Lake Placid, Florida. The nurse conducts patient assessments, develops care plans, administers treatments and provides education to patients and families, working closely with other healthcare professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on findings and diagnosis
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and monitor patient responses to interventions
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, medications and self-care
• Document care in the electronic medical record and ensure compliance with regulations and accreditation standards
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and supervise and mentor nursing staff
• Maintain a safe, clean environment following infection control policies and respond promptly to life-threatening situations

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN); additional licensure or certification may apply depending on unit or state
• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred
• Previous experience in a specialty area preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows-based programs

Required skills

• Critical care nursing knowledge and clinical skills, including EKG interpretation (requirements depend on patient population)
• Proficiency in Cerner EMR preferred; EPIC preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; preferred certifications include FCCS, CCNS, CEN, NRP-A, TNCC and others
