Registered Nurse Emergency Department (Night Shift, 6pm-6am)

About the role

AdventHealth in Sebring, Florida is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department on the night shift (6pm-6am). The nurse conducts patient assessments, develops care plans, administers treatments and provides education, working closely with other healthcare professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on findings and diagnosis
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and monitor patient responses to interventions
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, medications and self-care
• Document care in the electronic medical record and ensure compliance with regulations and accreditation standards
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and supervise and mentor nursing staff
• Maintain a safe, clean environment following infection control policies and respond promptly to life-threatening situations

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license and Basic Life Support (CPR) certification
• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience in emergency department, critical care or acute care settings
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing
• Previous experience with Cerner EMR, EKG interpretation class or EPIC is preferred

Required skills

• Critical care nursing skills and knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
• Proficiency in clinical skills, multi-tasking and accurate EMR documentation
• Knowledge of health promotion and maintenance, and EKG knowledge based on patient population
• Organization, prioritization, problem-solving and critical thinking

• Pay range of $31.85-$50.90, with up to $15,000 sign-on bonus and up to $10,000 relocation bonus for eligible candidates
