Registered Nurse - CVOR (Open Heart), Full Time with Call

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction, is hiring a Registered Nurse for its CVOR (Open Heart) program. The position is full time with call coverage. The CVOR RN acts as an educator for peers, patients and families, supports service excellence and a healing environment, and coordinates the interdisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Apply the nursing process and evidence-based practices to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, evaluate and modify patient care.
• Practice autonomously within professional nursing standards, the ANA Code of Ethics and the ANA Bill of Rights.
• Ensure quality outcomes and participate in quality assurance or performance improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and lead the interdisciplinary team in patient care.
• Identify and communicate needed resources for the budget, and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure in the state of Florida.
• At least two years of experience in the Open Heart Program.
• BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association; PALS preferred.
• CNOR preferred.
• Ability to lift and move patients and equipment, including pushing or pulling up to 40 lbs and carrying or lifting up to 50 lbs, and to work in a stressful environment.

Required skills

• Annual Joint Commission mandatory education, in-service and health requirements.
• Maintenance of required professional licensing and certification.
• Attendance at new employee orientation and TB/PPD surveillance program.
