Registered Nurse Charge/Supervisor

About the role

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Registered Nurse Charge/Supervisor for its Skilled Nursing Facility in Decatur. The role provides leadership on a 24‑hour unit that serves individuals with profound developmental disabilities who require skilled nursing care.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and guide nursing staff assignments for the assigned shift or unit.
• Plan, implement and evaluate nursing care, ensuring accurate patient assessments and documentation.
• Develop and maintain individualized nursing care plans.
• Coordinate staffing, assignments and daily nursing operations.
• Provide clinical guidance on policies, procedures and best practices.
• Advise patients on health maintenance, disease prevention and treatment planning.
• May perform case management and assist with regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Current Georgia RN license.
• Associate degree in Nursing (minimum) with at least four years of nursing experience, including two years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Experience caring for patients with G/J tubes, tracheostomies and seizure disorders.
• Background in long‑term/geriatric care; mental health or developmental disability experience preferred.
