Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Operating Room

About the role

AdventHealth Littleton is hiring a full-time day-shift Registered Nurse for its Cardiovascular Operating Room. The nurse assesses patients, develops care plans, performs therapeutic and diagnostic interventions and advocates for patient safety. The position is eligible for operating room shift differentials.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patient conditions and needs through comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized care plans.
• Develop and implement care plans with the interdisciplinary team and monitor patient progress, adjusting plans as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, and perform IVs, wound care, catheterization and specimen collection.
• Maintain sterile environments, follow safety protocols and prevent infection.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and post-discharge care.
• Document care activities accurately and advocate for patient safety by identifying risks.
• Provide emotional and physical support during recovery and take part in quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Associate's degree in Nursing (RN).
• At least 1 year of surgery experience.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
• Proficiency in English.
• Compassionate, respectful and able to work independently under the direction of physicians and management.

Required skills

• Safe knowledge of equipment, procedures and supplies.
• Use of IV pumps, NOVA glucose monitor and I-STAT.
• Immediate-use sterilization policy and procedures.
