Registered Nurse 2 – PACU

About the role

The Registered Nurse 2 – PACU provides direct patient care in the Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit at UHealth SoLé Mia. The role involves assessing patients, implementing treatment plans, and collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe recovery after surgery.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and monitor vital signs and symptoms.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient response, physician orders, and diagnostic test results.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, considering age and cultural factors.
• Provide psychological support and maintain a compassionate environment.
• Administer medications safely, maintain accurate medication records, and operate medical equipment.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members while complying with HIPAA and other regulations.
• Assist with discharge planning and serve as a preceptor for new staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Active Florida Registered Nurse license.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, nursing care methods, and health‑safety guidelines.
