Registered Nurse 2 – Bascom Palmer Eye Institute Satellites (Sole Mia)

About the role

The University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, seeks a full‑time Registered Nurse 2 to support the institute’s satellite locations, primarily the SoLe Mia site in Aventura, Florida. The RN will deliver patient‑family centered care, oversee nursing and allied‑health staff, and ensure culturally competent, evidence‑based services.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while considering age and cultural factors.
• Administer medications safely, maintain accurate medication records, and perform required patient tests.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and the care team, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, providing feedback and guidance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.
• Valid Florida RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
• Strong teamwork, learning agility, technical proficiency with office software, and clear written and verbal communication.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
