Radiologic Technologist 2 – Full-time

About the role

The University of Miami Health System’s UHealth SoLé Mia campus is seeking a full-time Radiologic Technologist 2. The incumbent will perform complex radiographic procedures, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure. This role requires independent judgment, initiative, and responsibility for designated equipment and protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Assist radiologists and physicians in developing new imaging protocols and techniques.
• Monitor charging of radiologic procedures and supplies to ensure accuracy.
• Demonstrate radiologic equipment during site visits for physicians and administrators.
• Verify orders, assess patient conditions, and ensure appropriate exam selection.
• Operate radiographic and scanner equipment following radiation safety standards.
• Prepare patients, obtain consent, start IVs, and inject contrast when required.
• Evaluate image quality, label and collate processed images.
• Provide orientation and training for new technologists and student technologists.
• Respond to medical emergencies, perform CPR and assist in “Code Blue” situations.

Required profile

• Associate degree in radiologic technology or related field.
• Minimum three years of relevant radiology experience.
• Certification and licensing as required by the department.
• Strong learning agility to adopt new procedures and technologies.
• Effective teamwork and communication skills.

Required skills

• Operation of radiographic equipment.
• Operation of radiologic scanners.
• IV insertion and contrast administration.
• CPR and emergency response.
