Registered Monitoring Technician

About the role

The Registered Monitoring Technician joins Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus Epilepsy Unit to set up, perform, and monitor EEG tests for adult and pediatric patients. This position provides hands‑on experience with cutting‑edge electrophysiological equipment while supporting patients throughout long‑term monitoring studies.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate EEG recording instruments, closed‑circuit and digital audio/visual equipment, and surface recording electrodes.
• Perform long‑term monitoring of patients, including those with invasive electrodes, and assist with head dressing changes.
• Assist physicians in reading and interpreting EEG data and clinical seizures.
• Maintain daily logs, record‑keeping, and compile billing information for the work leader.
• Support research protocols such as “Spect Scans” and documentation for studies.

Required profile

• Associate’s Degree in Electroneurodiagnostics or a related patient‑care field.
• Registered EEG Technologist (R.EEG.T) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• At least one year of recent experience in epilepsy long‑term monitoring.
• Ability to work variable hours averaging 40 hours per week.

Required skills

• Knowledge of surface and invasive electrode placement.
• Computer record‑keeping and billing data entry.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) skills.
