Registered Monitor Technician Reader

About the role

The Registered Monitor Technician Reader works in the Epilepsy-Main Campus Hospital of Cleveland Clinic Health System, providing long‑term EEG and video monitoring for adult and pediatric patients. The role involves presenting findings during daily rounds and contributing to comprehensive patient reports.

Key responsibilities

• Perform long‑term monitoring using closed‑circuit and digital audio/visual EEG equipment.
• Present patient history, EEG/video data, and radiologic studies to staff physicians during rounds.
• Classify ictal and interictal EEG patterns, write detailed reports, and select representative samples.
• Instruct and train new personnel on monitoring procedures and patient care.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED.
• Registered EEG Technologist (R.EEG.T) certification with Basic Life Support (BLS).
• At least two years of recent experience in epilepsy long‑term monitoring or routine EEG labs.

Required skills

• EEG and video monitoring equipment operation.
• Electrophysiological recording techniques.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Technical/computer proficiency for data handling.
