Registered Monitor Technician

About the role

The Registered Monitor Technician works night shifts on the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, providing EEG monitoring for patients in the Epilepsy Unit. The role involves setting up, performing, and interpreting EEG tests while supporting patients throughout the procedure.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate EEG and electrophysiological recording equipment in dedicated monitoring rooms and other locations.
• Perform long‑term monitoring of adult and pediatric patients, including handling invasive electrodes and assisting with head dressing changes.
• Assist physicians with EEG interpretation, research studies, and documentation of clinical seizures.
• Maintain accurate patient logs, compile billing information, and ensure compliance with safety and infection‑control protocols.

Required profile

• Associate’s Degree in Electroneurodiagnostics or a related patient‑care field.
• Registered EEG Technologist (R.EEG.T) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• At least one year of recent experience in epilepsy long‑term monitoring.

Required skills

• Proficiency with EEG and electrophysiological recording instruments.
• Experience with long‑term monitoring techniques and invasive electrode care.
• Ability to operate closed‑circuit audio/visual equipment for patient monitoring.
