Registered Dietitian – Inpatient Nutrition Support

About the role

The Registered Dietitian joins Cleveland Clinic’s Inpatient Nutrition Support Team to provide medical nutrition therapy for critically ill patients. Working on the Main Campus, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary caregivers to develop and implement individualized nutrition plans.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct care using medical nutrition therapy for patients requiring parenteral, enteral, or modified oral nutrition, including writing diet and supplement orders.
• Assess patients for nutritional deficiencies, perform nutrition‑focused physical exams, and document malnutrition diagnoses.
• Collaborate with physicians and other providers to manage oral diets, tube feedings, and parenteral nutrition, and communicate care plans.
• Serve as a preceptor for dietetic interns and coordinate activities of Dietetic Technicians as assigned.
• Develop and deliver education programs and materials for staff, students, and the public.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or related field and completion of a Dietetic Internship.
• Current Ohio Licensed Dietitian (LD) and active RD/RDN certification.
• Board certification as a Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) for adults or Certified Specialist in Pediatrics (CSP) within two years of hire.
• At least one year of clinical nutrition experience or completion of Cleveland Clinic’s Dietetic Internship program.
