Regional OTR Truck Driver – Opelousas, LA

About the role

Walmart is seeking experienced regional OTR truck drivers to transport freight safely and on time across the United States. You will enjoy weekly home time, competitive earnings, and a comprehensive benefits package while representing a leading retailer.

Key responsibilities

• Plan daily routes, set priorities, and coordinate with the team to keep freight moving.
• Communicate clearly, solve problems on the road, and adapt to changing plans.
• Complete all required paperwork and electronic logs accurately, adhering to DOT, state, and company regulations.
• Operate and inspect the tractor‑trailer before, during, and after each trip.
• Follow optimized routes, traffic laws, and local restrictions to minimize delays.
• Uphold Walmart’s standards of safety, integrity, and professionalism throughout each mile.

Required profile

• Valid Interstate (Class A) Commercial Driver’s License with Hazmat endorsement (or obtain within 120 days) and cleared background check.
• At least 30 months of full‑time Class A tractor/trailer experience in the past three years.
• Maximum two moving violations and no serious traffic violations in the last three years.
• No preventable accidents in the past three years and no DOT‑recordable accidents in the past ten years.
• Residence within 250 miles of the assigned facility or willingness to relocate within 90 days.

Required skills
