Regional Operations Supervisor - Portland

About the role

Forged Fiber, an open-access fiber network provider, is hiring a Supervisor Regional Operations in Portland, Oregon. The supervisor manages technicians in specific service areas and delivers quality residential and business communications services on a profitable basis while following company policies. The role involves training, coaching and developing a customer-focused team that promotes and sells Forged Fiber 37 products.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the daily operation of outside and inside plant network services and technicians, including installation, maintenance, central office and design services and splicing.
• Serve as the single point of contact between Forged Fiber and contractors to resolve construction and maintenance issues.
• Train, coach and develop employees on new processes, quality standards, customer contact, safety, expense control and technical skills.
• Lead a team of technicians meeting attendance and performance standards, and represent Forged Fiber with customers and government agencies.
• Work with the union, celebrate successes, reward achievements and motivate the team toward continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum: 4+ years of experience managing teams in a telecom technical environment; preferred: 2+ years.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience, with 5+ years of related experience.
• Experience in a union environment, contractor relations and multi-tasking, deadline-focused work.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, handle pressure, negotiate timeframes and meet critical deadlines.

Required skills

• Preferred: installation and maintenance of residential and business services, local network processes, POTS and HSI, and splicing and construction processes.

What we offer

• Anticipated base salary range of $83,000 to $130,000, depending on location, skills and experience.
