Regional Engagement Officer - Alumni Engagement

About the role

The University of Miami is seeking a Regional Engagement Officer to lead alumni and donor engagement across a designated U.S. region. Based in Miami, you will act as the market expert, coordinating volunteers, events, and fundraising activities to strengthen connections with alumni, parents, donors, and friends of the university.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Senior Director of Regional Engagement to define and execute the strategic vision for regional programs and events.
• Engage alumni and friends through regular outreach (calls, emails, visits, gatherings) and document interactions in the university’s CRM.
• Drive the operational plan for the assigned region, overseeing relationships, events, and communications.
• Create and manage regional programming that appeals to diverse audiences and aligns with university objectives, including budgeting, scheduling, marketing, and execution.
• Partner with market volunteers to facilitate engagement pipelines and support fundraising goals under $100,000.

Required profile

• Experience in alumni relations, fundraising, or community engagement within a higher‑education or nonprofit setting.
• Proven ability to manage volunteers, plan events, and travel regularly within the assigned region.
• Strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate with university leadership and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
