Regional Advisor II - National Scholar Recruitment

About the role

We are seeking a relationship‑driven professional to connect outstanding students with opportunities at Texas A&M University. The Regional Advisor II will develop and implement recruitment, admissions, financial aid, and outreach initiatives to attract high‑achieving prospective students, including National Merit Scholars.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, recruit, and increase enrollment of high‑achieving students across designated high schools and regions.
• Guide prospective students and families through admissions, scholarship, and financial aid processes, including presentations, workshops, and campus visits.
• Coordinate with high school counselors, external organizations, and university departments to facilitate matriculation and support services.
• Mentor and train subordinate advisors, lead professional association activities, and manage recruitment programs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of experience in student services, admissions, recruitment, or financial aid.
• Extensive travel availability, including evenings and weekends.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents, counselors, and community stakeholders.
• Driver’s license (or ability to obtain within 30 days).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience using student information systems such as Banner, AIS, Howdy, MOSES, SLATE, or TAMUDocs.
