Recovery Support Specialist (Residential Behavioral Health)

About the role

The Recovery Support Specialist provides day‑to‑day supervision, encouragement, and structure to individuals receiving treatment for substance use disorders and co‑occurring mental health conditions. Working in a residential setting, you will help create a safe, respectful, recovery‑focused environment that supports patients in rebuilding their lives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision, support, and encouragement to patients throughout the treatment day.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and respectful residential environment.
• Conduct patient observations and safety rounds on schedule.
• Document observations, behaviors, incidents, and other required information accurately and promptly.
• Assist patients with daily routines, meals, activities, and program expectations.
• Support patient participation in treatment programming, recovery activities, and community meetings.
• Recognize changes in patient behavior or safety risk and communicate concerns to clinical or medical staff.
