Recovery Monitor – Atlanta

About the role

The Recovery Monitor (RM) serves as a liaison among courts, community agencies, jails, forensic hospitals, and individuals involved in the criminal justice system. Based in Atlanta, the RM provides case management, oversight, and coordination of services for participants in the Medication Over Objection (MOO) program and related competency restoration pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and arrange community behavioral health treatment options as alternatives to incarceration.
• Develop and maintain relationships with courts, community providers, and law‑enforcement partners.
• Provide case management for individuals in the MOO program and other competency‑related statuses.
• Coordinate updates to the statewide community tracking/database system.
• Facilitate referrals to additional behavioral health programs and manage timely transfers between levels of care.
• Compile reports and ensure accurate program data for senior leadership.
• Travel throughout assigned counties and across the state (75‑80% travel).

Required profile

• Experience in case management, behavioral health, or criminal‑justice settings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to travel extensively and work in a hybrid environment (3 days onsite per week).
• Knowledge of mental‑health monitoring, competency restoration, and community service coordination.
