Receiving Dock Lead - Weekends

About the role

Assurant is hiring a Receiving Dock Lead for its Irving, Texas location, working a Friday to Sunday shift from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM. The role works with supervisors, helps train and develop the team, monitors production performance and ensures production and quality controls are met while following the work instructions for the area of responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in daily stand-up meetings with the supervisor and in internal and external customer or vendor meetings
• Help the supervisor reassign people, supplies and products to meet customer goals and coordinate with other departments for smooth workflow
• Act as point of contact for employees on escalation issues and work with Engineering to resolve process issues
• Maintain the daily attendance roster for emergency evacuation, take part in monthly 6S audits and help implement audit-driven changes on the production floor
• Perform on-the-job refresher training and workstation assessments, monitor WIP aging inventory and KPI/SLA performance, and escalate concerns to the supervisor
• Compile and analyze data, complete daily reports, and train and coach associates as needed
• Forklift certification is needed if the area of responsibility requires it

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of previous light manufacturing experience
• Prior forklift experience
• Proficiency in manual processing and receiving, consistently meeting UPH expectations
• Preferred: prior leadership experience in manufacturing, logistics, operations or a similar environment

Required skills

• Shop floor systems: CVision, Oracle, Unit Tracker, Great Plains, Ghost
• Database and data-entry software, spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel) and word processing (Microsoft Word)
• Effective communication with all levels of employees

Pay range: $17.34 - $27.75.
