About the role
The Nuclear Engineering & Science Center (NESC) at Texas A&M Engineering seeks a Reactor Supervisor to support the safe and efficient operation of its two research reactors. Reporting to the NESC Assistant/Associate Director of Operations, you will lead day‑to‑day activities in a NRC‑licensed environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Assistant/Associate Director in managing the 1‑MW TRIGA and 5‑W AGN reactors.
- Oversee daily reactor operations, staff scheduling, and training programs.
- Coordinate periodic inspections, maintenance, and compliance with NRC regulations.
- Manage isotope production and related research activities.
- Ensure safety procedures are followed and documentation is up‑to‑date.
Required profile
- Experience in nuclear research reactor operations or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated supervisory or team‑lead experience in a technical environment.
- Strong understanding of NRC licensing and safety requirements.
- Ability to work in a dynamic research, education, and service setting.
