Chemicals Market Analyst

About the role

The Chemicals Market Analyst will support ICIS’s Americas team by delivering accurate pricing assessments, market intelligence, and forecasts for petrochemical, aromatic chemicals, polymers, and oleochemicals. The role combines data analysis with client‑focused communication to help customers make strategic, sustainable decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Produce timely regional price assessments and expand market coverage where possible.
• Build and maintain a network of industry contacts to gather pricing and market intelligence.
• Engage with market participants and clients to develop informed perspectives on supply, demand, and pricing fundamentals.
• Collect, manage, and update market data within analytical models and forecasting tools.
• Develop clear market commentary, analysis, forecasts, charts, news updates, and industry reports for publication.
• Provide data‑driven insights that support client procurement, strategic planning, and decision‑making.
• Collaborate with global teams to create supply‑demand balances and long‑term forecasts across regions.
• Represent the organization at industry conferences, customer meetings, and networking events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships with industry participants and clients.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% for conferences and meetings.
