R&D Engineer – Chillers (HVAC)

About the role

LG Electronics is expanding its HVAC Research and Innovation capabilities in the United States. We are looking for an R&D Engineer focused on chillers to join our HVAC R&D Center in Alpharetta, Georgia. You will contribute to the development and improvement of HVAC products, applying analytical thinking and market insight.

Key responsibilities

• Provide HVAC engineering insight and improvement solutions for new product development.
• Screen, analyze, and support performance of new HVAC products, recommending next steps.
• Statistically evaluate, interpret, and support collected product and field‑testing data.
• Identify design shortcomings, pinpoint weaknesses, and suggest improvements.
• Collaborate with R&D and factory laboratories to deliver US‑specific engineering and design statistics.
• Support acquisition hardware/software to create lab models.
• Assist in preparing service, installation, and engineering manuals for US commercialization.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years of professional experience; HVAC experience preferred.
• Exposure to various manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability.
• Ability to multi‑task and work independently.
• Experience with agency certifications such as CSA, UL, or DOE is a plus.
