RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster / Specialist (California)

About the role

Zurich is seeking a RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I or Crop Claims Specialist to serve farmers and ranchers in California. The role is home‑based with approximately 50% travel within a 50‑mile radius of Fresno, Tulare, Kern, and Madera counties.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections, read maps and aerial photos, measure fields and storage bins, and discuss crop loss findings with farmers.
• Explain complex regulations and claim interpretations to claimants, agents, and industry partners.
• Gather factual evidence of crop damage, record information, and transmit loss data to determine indemnities.
• Perform fact‑finding, apply applicable law, and establish basic negligence principles.
• Review and audit claims from lower‑level adjusters as assigned.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and company policies.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• For Field Adjuster: at least 6 months agricultural experience; for Specialist: 4+ years in agriculture or crop insurance.
• Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) obtained within 180 days of hire.
• Reliable personal transportation, valid driver’s license, and ability to meet physical requirements (walk up to 3 miles, climb bins up to 50 ft, lift 25‑50 lb).
