Radiologic Technologist Specialist – Surgery – Days – 7 On / 7 Off

About the role

This position provides advanced radiographic services to surgical patients on a rotating 7‑day on/7‑day off schedule. The specialist works closely with physicians and the care team to ensure high‑quality imaging while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

Key responsibilities

• Verify physician orders, explain procedures to patients, and operate imaging equipment according to protocol, including contrast administration and placement of tubes or catheters.
• Review images for diagnostic quality, perform quality‑control checks, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Lead departmental programs such as protocol development, competency validation, safety initiatives, and accreditation activities.
• Mentor junior staff and students, assist with orientation, and provide feedback for performance evaluations.

Required profile

• Completion of an AMA‑approved radiologic technology program.
• Minimum of 5 years of radiologic technologist experience.
• Active ARRT registration and state licensure, plus BLS certification.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and on‑call availability.

Required skills

• Proficiency in operating advanced radiographic equipment and administering contrast agents.
• Experience with radiology information systems and other web‑based applications.
• Computer literacy for documentation, image transmission, and quality‑control processes.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) skills certified by the American Heart Association.
