Radiation Therapist – Inpatient

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System seeks a skilled Radiation Therapist to deliver therapeutic radiation services to adult and pediatric patients in an acute inpatient setting. This full‑time, day‑shift position includes on‑call duties for urgent treatments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide radiation therapy to both ambulatory and inpatient populations, including ICU, NICU, and PICU patients.
• Operate advanced therapy delivery systems such as Gamma Knife, High Dose Rate Brachytherapy, and Total Body Irradiation.
• Collaborate with physicians and dosimetrists to determine and deliver appropriate treatment plans.
• Monitor patient condition, document responses, and report adverse reactions.
• Participate in weekend and holiday on‑call rotations and coordinate treatments requiring anesthesia or sedation.
• Supervise and instruct radiation therapy and dosimetry students.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiation Therapy Technology (CAAHEA approved) or registry‑eligible.
• Board‑certified Registered Radiation Therapist (ARRT) in good standing.
• Current state licensure where required and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations, understand physics and sciences, and use computer programs for treatment planning.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 35 lb, and push/pull over 100 lb.

Required skills

• Operation of Gamma Knife, High Dose Rate Brachytherapy, and Total Body Irradiation equipment.
• Proficiency with linear accelerators and radiation oncology electronic medical records.
• Experience with external beam therapy, IMRT, IGRT, and CT simulation.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and ARRT registration.
