About the role
The Radiation Physicist II ensures the safe and accurate use of radiation prescribed by Radiation Oncologists, overseeing technical aspects of radiation therapy, imaging, and treatment procedures at Lehigh Valley Health Network.
Key responsibilities
- Perform accurate and timely quality assurance testing, patient‑specific reviews, equipment calibration, and routine testing.
- Coordinate implementation, acceptance, commissioning, and training for new equipment and software.
- Support repair and maintenance activities and verify proper operation before clinical use.
- Oversee and advise treatment planning, collaborating with physicians and dosimetrists to develop optimal plans.
- Develop policies and procedures to ensure safe, accurate radiation use.
- Train and orient clinical staff on routine and new procedures, regulations, and technical principles.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Medical Physics or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in radiation physics.
- Board certification (ABR or ABMP) and state licensure in Pennsylvania upon hire.
- Knowledge of radiation therapy procedures, equipment operation, and radiation protection regulations.
