Quality Specialist – MRB & Nonconformance

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Quality Specialist to manage the Materials Review Board (MRB) process and resolve nonconforming materials in an advanced aerospace and defense manufacturing environment. The role works closely with manufacturing, engineering, quality, inspection, warehouse, and suppliers to improve production quality.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the site MRB process, lead containment activities, and coordinate nonconformance dispositions.
• Review work instructions, provide go/no‑go decisions for inspectors, and track MRB metrics weekly.
• Execute vendor Return Material Authorizations, create inspection plans, and train technicians on data‑capture requirements.
• Conduct root‑cause investigations, internal audits, and continuous‑improvement projects.
• Analyze quality and traceability data to identify trends and recommend process improvements.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in manufacturing, quality, or engineering roles supporting hardware development.
• Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, IATF 16949 or similar QMS.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, CAD, and wire diagrams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software and inspection data‑management tools.
• Use of calibrated inspection equipment: calipers, micrometers, CMM, Faro arm, OMM.
• Experience with X‑ray inspection, digital characterization, and material certificates of compliance.
• Familiarity with manufacturing systems such as Jira, MES, ERP, Teamcenter.
• Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, IATF 16949 quality management standards.
