Quality Specialist – MRB & Nonconformance

About the role

The Quality Specialist will manage the Materials Review Board (MRB) process on‑site in Santa Ana/ Costa Mesa, supporting manufacturing by resolving non‑conforming materials and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the site MRB process, including containment, root‑cause analysis and disposition of non‑conforming items.
• Review work instructions, provide go/no‑go decisions, and create inspection plans for incoming, in‑process and end‑of‑line material.
• Lead internal triage with engineering, ensure accurate data entry, and report MRB metrics weekly.
• Execute vendor return material authorizations and manage quality containment for material, tooling and inspection equipment.
• Train technicians and inspectors, conduct internal audits, and propose quality‑assurance policies.

Required profile

• US citizen eligible for TS/SCI clearance.
• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in manufacturing quality or engineering roles.
• Experience with AS9100, ISO9001 or similar QMS standards.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and in teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software and inspection data‑management tools.
• Use of calibrated equipment (calipers, micrometers, CMM, Faro arm, OMM).
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Experience with x‑ray inspection, digital characterization and material certificates.
• Familiarity with Jira, MES, ERP, Teamcenter and related manufacturing systems.
