Quality Manager – Product Development

About the role
The Quality Manager supports and executes all quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) functions to ensure product integrity and regulatory compliance. Reporting to the Vice President of Product Development, this role partners cross‑functionally to develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) across the supply chain.
Key responsibilities
- Partner in creating, implementing, and maintaining a QMS aligned with business and regulatory needs.
- Review and approve bulk and finished‑goods samples, Certificates of Analysis (COAs), and specifications, documenting approvals per internal protocols.
- Manage Non‑Conformance Report (NCR) and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes for production issues and customer complaints.
- Lead onboarding and training of contract manufacturers on Summer Fridays’ quality procedures.
- Maintain formula and finished‑goods standards, ensuring alignment of specifications with contract manufacturers.
- Draft, negotiate, and implement Quality Agreements with contract manufacturers and key suppliers.
- Oversee a Supplier Qualification Program for contract manufacturers and component/packaging vendors.
- Conduct and document quality questionnaires, vendor assessments, and qualification processes.
- Review all quality‑related documentation for accuracy and prepare quality reports as needed.
- Represent Quality onsite at contract manufacturers or packaging suppliers to conduct inspections and validate CAPAs.
Required profile
- 3‑5 years of quality management experience within the skincare, beauty, or CPG industry.
- Proven experience managing QMS frameworks and leading QA/QC functions.
- Strong working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), ISO standards, and FDA regulatory requirements.
- Experience collaborating with contract manufacturers and packaging suppliers.
