Quality Lead - Food Safety & Sanitation

About the role

Saputo, a top 10 global dairy processor, is looking for a hands-on Quality Assurance Lead to support its Troy facility. The role oversees daily QA activities, leads and executes sanitation programs, and ensures compliance with food safety and aseptic processing standards. It works closely with the QA and Sanitation supervisors.

Key responsibilities

• Train new and existing team members in GMPs, food safety, quality systems and sanitation programs.
• Lead cross-functional teams or assigned projects with minimal supervision.
• Provide sanitation and chemical-handling training for new hires and cleanup partners, including PPE use and MSDS/SDS interpretation.
• Verify daily plant documentation (Food Safety Plan records, operator quality checks, production paperwork) and ensure records are reviewed, tracked and filed correctly.
• Conduct GMP and sanitation audits, verify finished products against quality specs, and support hold management, trials, customer visits and audits.
• Maintain and improve the Master Sanitation Program, and develop, implement, train and audit sanitation SOPs and One Point Lessons.
• Support CAPA development, monthly pest control audits, and CIP system operation, maintenance and audits, including chemical strength checks.
• Perform weekly chemical inventory, place orders, and maintain foamers, footbaths, sanitizing stations and related equipment.
• Clean floor drains daily, keep CIP rooms organized, and assist with equipment teardown and sanitary inspections.

Required profile

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, to support plant operations.
