Quality Engineer

About the role

CACI, which designs, develops and manufactures complex systems for military, space and commercial applications, is seeking a Quality Engineer in Orlando. The engineer supports all phases of product realization and helps ensure high-quality, high-reliability space and ground-based systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a quality plan for assigned products or processes with metrics and guide quality control inspectors in its execution
• Act as MRB chair for designated programs, driving cross-functional disposition through the MRB lifecycle
• Lead and take part in internal and external corrective action activities until closure
• Identify and implement process improvements to meet program and corporate goals
• Support quality management in manufacturing and inspection, including reporting quality performance
• Audit lab and production areas (incoming, in-process and final inspection) against program requirements, company processes and standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, IPC and J-STD
• Create and deliver training on quality assurance topics and perform internal audits as assigned
• Provide surge capacity in quality functions and other duties as assigned

Required profile

• BS in Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in electronic, optoelectronic and/or opto-mechanical product quality assurance in the aerospace and defense industry
• U.S. citizenship required
• Excellent work habits, communication skills and critical thinking

Required skills

• Solid knowledge of ISO 9001, IPC and J-STD
• Familiarity with dispositioning hardware, the MRB process, RCCA techniques and electrical/mechanical design requirements
• Desired: ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA, CSQP), AS9100 familiarity and prior space-flight hardware delivery experience
