Quality Engineer

About the role

Copeland is seeking a hands‑on Quality Engineer to lead and coordinate quality initiatives at its Natchitoches facility. You will apply Lean and Six Sigma tools, support the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, and work closely with operations, engineering, and supply‑chain teams to improve assembly quality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead quality‑related projects to reduce waste, variation, and improve processes.
• Support and maintain the ISO 9001:2015 QMS, managing improvement projects.
• Investigate internal quality issues, warranty claims, and customer returns using structured problem‑solving.
• Participate actively in Tier 3 and Tier 4 Lean daily meetings.
• Assign audit tasks, establish product and process verification methods, and conduct quality audits.
• Coach and mentor operators on quality criteria and normal/abnormal conditions.
• Track, monitor, and act on key metrics such as internal ppm and scrap rates.
• Perform product tear‑down analysis for internal and customer‑returned parts.

Required profile

• Hands‑on Quality Assurance professional with experience in manufacturing environments.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, able to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Effective communicator who can work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain.
