Quality Control Specialist I

About the role

The Quality Control Specialist I supports the organization by ensuring that products and services meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and project specifications. This role focuses on continuous improvement of safety, operational efficiency, and team effectiveness through diligent quality monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Enter, maintain, and track deficiencies in the QC software system.
• Assist senior technicians with site QC audits, performing visual inspections to verify compliance with project requirements, company standards, and local codes.
• Document and communicate progress, findings, and unresolved issues through QC project reporting.
• Review project documents for accuracy, completeness, and consistency with drawings and specifications.
• Maintain comprehensive quality documentation, including inspection results, weld maps, torque maps, and compliance records.
• Communicate quality issues to supervisors, foremen, and project managers to drive corrective actions.

Required profile

• 4‑year degree in a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in fabrication shop quality control.
• Completed Quality Control training and OSHA 10/20‑hour continuing education.
• Working knowledge of construction codes for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Familiarity with regulatory agency requirements related to quality control.
• Understanding of nondestructive testing techniques.
