Project Manager – Data Center Construction

About the role

Black Box is seeking a Project Manager to lead the construction of the largest data center in the United States. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of the project, ensuring safety, quality, cost control, and schedule adherence while coordinating across multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day construction management using established PMO standards and methodologies.
• Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules.
• Oversee all phases of execution, ensuring alignment with scope, timeline, and budget.
• Identify, assess, and manage change events through best‑practice change management processes.
• Enforce safety protocols, procedures, and site standards across all activities.
• Maintain quality control through consistent documentation, tracking, and reporting.
• Apply construction accounting principles for cost forecasting, budget analysis, and financial reporting.
• Manage contracting methods (lump sum, cost‑plus, GMP, design‑build, time & material) and monitor vendor performance.
• Serve as primary contact for internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and senior leadership, communicating status, risks, and milestones.
• Anticipate issues, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale data center or infrastructure construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of PMO standards, construction scheduling, and change management.
• Solid understanding of safety regulations, building codes, and quality assurance processes.
• Experience with construction accounting, budgeting, and contract administration.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and presentation skills.
