Fire Alarm Systems Designer

About the role

A well-established engineering organization supporting large-scale projects across the United States is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Designer. The role involves designing fire alarm systems, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and developing expertise in fire alarm design, programming and U.S. engineering standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop fire alarm systems in compliance with applicable codes, engineering standards and project requirements.
• Review technical drawings, layouts and specifications to ensure design accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Provide technical guidance during bidding, design, permitting and construction phases.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, project managers, clients and regulatory authorities.
• Support multiple projects while maintaining quality, timelines and budgets.
• Contribute to fire alarm system designs for complex commercial and large-scale facilities.

Required profile

• 3-10 years of experience in fire alarm systems design and programming.
• NICET Level I certification required; Level II or III strongly preferred.
• Previous experience on U.S.-based engineering projects.
• Experience with design-build fire alarm systems, preferably including high-rise buildings, high-density facilities and smoke control systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical design principles, building codes and construction safety requirements.
• Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Valid U.S. visa and willingness to travel internationally as needed.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction or a related technical discipline, and experience leading and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering projects.
