Electrical Manager HV

About the role

The Electrical Manager will coordinate planning for contractors and craft activities on a utility‑scale solar site, ensuring high‑quality installation of electrical systems and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure high‑quality installation of underground cabling, module‑to‑module wiring, combiner box terminations, and DC collection systems.
• Review drawings, constructability, and submittals with engineering, verifying material and workmanship quality.
• Collaborate with Site Manager and Project Manager on schedule reviews and updates.
• Supervise work teams, manage quality control, and oversee the interface for grid connection to the transmission system.
• Participate in project meetings, liaise between engineers, contractors, and craft workers to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Monitor contractor procurement, methods, staffing, and coordination with site activities.
• Ensure safety, quality, and efficiency of contractor work and support subcontract crews.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in electrical installations.
• Proficiency in installation, testing, acceptance, maintenance, and repair of DC and medium‑voltage cables.
• Current driver’s license with a clean record and ability to travel as required.
• Ability to pass background and drug screening checks.

Required skills

• Knowledge of current injection, Hi‑pot, capacitance discharge, contact resistance, Megger, TTR, Doble testing methods.
• Working knowledge of electrical drawings, underground duct banks, trenching, manholes, vaults, pad‑mount transformers, and SCADA systems.
