Senior Construction Project Manager, Grocery Store Remodels

About the role

Amazon is hiring a Senior Construction Project Manager for its Worldwide Grocery Stores (WWGS) Enterprise team. You will independently own and deliver large-scale, high-complexity major remodel projects across multiple regions, serving as the single-threaded leader for quality, schedule and budget from preconstruction through closeout. The role works at the intersection of construction expertise and live retail operations, including refrigeration systems, food safety protocols and specialty grocery infrastructure, and requires 75-80% travel.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver enterprise-scale minor and major remodels on time and on budget within operating store environments
• Independently manage scope, schedule and budget for complex, high-dollar programs with minimal oversight
• Apply enterprise standards across projects while adapting to local jurisdictional requirements
• Act as central point of accountability across design, operations, equipment, refrigeration and commissioning
• Monitor MEP systems, refrigeration infrastructure and construction standards
• Negotiate with general contractors, landlords, developers and municipal authorities
• Manage change orders, RFIs, contract compliance, permitting, OFI equipment and inspection lead times
• Ensure compliance with life safety, OSHA and food safety requirements at active store sites
• Mentor colleagues, share best practices and contribute to improving construction SOPs and bidding procedures

Required profile

• 7+ years of project management, real estate development or architecture/design experience
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Ability to work safely and cooperatively, handle stress and follow company policies

What we offer

• Base salary of $90,000-$158,000 per year depending on location, plus sign-on payments and restricted stock units
