Quality Assurance Specialist – Substance Use Disorder

About the role

The Quality Assurance Specialist will support the Substance Use Disorder Program Director in maintaining program documentation, ensuring compliance with county and state regulations, and overseeing the integrity of counselor charts. This full‑time, union position is based in Los Angeles and involves both administrative and client‑facing duties.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate program documentation for adequacy and address compliance issues.
• Collect and compile statistical quality data, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure all required forms, treatment plans, progress notes, and billing logs are completed accurately and on time.
• Assist with client referrals, assess levels of care, and provide individual sessions as needed.
• Train new employees, interns, and volunteers on documentation standards and program procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Substance Use Disorder or addiction services.
• Strong communication skills and ability to recruit new clients.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish, with ability to facilitate groups in both languages.
• Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Registered or Certified Substance Abuse/Addiction Counselor, working toward required internship hours.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Ability to enter data into designated systems and generate reports.
