QA Engineer / SDET (Automation & AI‑Driven Testing)

About the role

Barn2Door, a fast‑growing food‑tech startup, is seeking a hands‑on QA Engineer / SDET to lead exploratory and automated testing, ensuring high product quality as the company scales.

Key responsibilities

• Build and scale quality systems, including automation frameworks and testing strategy.
• Prepare detailed, comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Review requirements, specifications and design documents, providing timely feedback.
• Assist development teams in adopting Test‑Driven Development.
• Plan and coordinate testing activities, identify and document bugs.
• Track QA metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts.
• Improve automation architecture and implement AI‑driven solutions for testing efficiency.
• Analyze non‑conforming software and train users on solutions.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated, high‑performing, and pursuit of excellence.
• Comfortable mentoring and collaborating with engineers in a dynamic startup environment.
• Strong communicator able to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Passionate about agriculture, food industry, or e‑commerce technology.

Required skills

• 4+ years experience as an SDET/QA Engineer.
• Solid understanding of JavaScript testing frameworks.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development principles.
• Proficiency in SQL and scripting.
• White‑box and black‑box testing, performance and security testing.
• Test automation, API testing, CI/CD integration.
• Experience with AI‑driven QA improvements.
