Public Health Registered Nurse – HOPE Center

About the role

The Georgia Department of Public Health is seeking a Public Health Registered Nurse to join the HOPE Center in Macon. You will provide comprehensive nursing care to individuals living with HIV/AIDS, support public health initiatives, and contribute to community health improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments, administer immunizations, and provide health education.
• Develop and implement targeted interventions for high‑risk populations.
• Coordinate care, screen and refer clients to community service providers.
• Participate in quality‑improvement projects, drills, and pandemic response exercises.
• Apply population‑health principles to promote disease prevention and health outcomes.

Required profile

• Associate degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• At least one year of nursing experience.
• Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification.
• Completion of a Public Health Nursing (PHN) course within one year of hire.

Required skills

• CPR certification.
• Patient assessment and clinical documentation.
• Administration of vaccines and medications.
