Propulsion Engineer – Chamber & Nozzle Manufacturing (Raptor)

About the role

SpaceX is looking for a Propulsion Engineer to lead the manufacturing of the Raptor engine’s combustion chamber and nozzle. You will develop and scale processes for highly complex, high‑temperature metallic components that must endure extreme thermal and pressure cycles.

Key responsibilities

• Own fabrication, joining, finishing and verification of Raptor thrust chambers and nozzle extensions.
• Design and optimise manufacturing methods, work instructions, custom fixtures, tooling and work‑holding solutions.
• Build and maintain data pipelines to capture manufacturing telemetry for statistical process control, predictive analytics and machine‑learning‑based defect reduction.
• Collaborate with propulsion design, materials, production and supply‑chain teams to translate new designs into robust, scalable processes.
• Maintain overall production line ownership, including quality, equipment, ergonomics, safety, facility layout and introduction of new revisions.
• Manage manufacturing software, documentation, simulation tools and version control, interfacing with internal and external fabrication partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• At least 1 year of hands‑on experience developing manufacturing processes for complex metallic components.
