Proposal Manager

About the role

Impulse Space is looking for a Proposal Manager in Redondo Beach. The role ensures the company produces high-quality proposals for competitive business opportunities, with a focus on US Government programs. It combines writing proposals with working across Engineering, Finance, Legal, Mission Management and Business Development, and evaluating opportunities and proposing solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Write and edit technical proposals as a primary contributor
• Own the proposal process and look for ways to improve and streamline it
• Read, understand and summarize the technical requirements of new customer opportunities
• Break down proposal work into tasks and collect inputs from technical experts
• Develop and maintain proposal schedules
• Help create supporting graphics and materials for proposals
• Edit proposals for clarity, accuracy and readability, and ensure compliance with submission rules
• Maintain a repository of frequently used proposal information
• Assist other teams with writing, editing and communication, including technical white papers

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or related area
• 5+ years of experience as a writer and/or editor
• 2+ years of experience publishing professional documents
• Ability to communicate technical material clearly and professionally
• Proficiency with planning and managing schedules
• U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, protected individual status or eligibility for the required authorizations under ITAR

Preferred skills and experience

• Degree in engineering, science, journalism, English, technical writing or professional writing
• 5+ years writing government proposals or grants
• Aerospace industry technical knowledge
• Experience managing large writing projects and writing academic papers or white papers
• Familiarity with FAR/DFARS
• Active TS/SCI clearance

• Pay of $100,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on role, level, location and market data
